Recently I was contacted by local residents concerned about the synchronisation of the traffic signals on Albany Creek Road – particularly in the vicinity of the Aspley Hypermarket and Gayford Street.
I am pleased to advise that following representations to the Minister, officers from the Department have made an inspection of the traffic signals and adjustments to the Albany Creek Road and Aspley Hypermarket intersections with Maundrell Terrace have been made.
These changes should assist in reducing delays for motorists, and I will be monitoring the traffic flow situation in the coming months and make further submissions to the Department as appropriate |

Next month I will be hosting an event for residents of the
Aspley Electorate where you can come along and receive a GoCard with $10 travel included.
Monday 9th August 2010
10:00 ‘til 11:30 am
Auditorium of the Compton Gardens Retirement Village
97 Albany Creek Road Aspley.
Translink officials will be present to explain how the GoCard system operates and to answer your questions. All you need is to bring along your concession card to be eligible for the GoCard Give-a-way.
If you could RSVP by 5th August to 3263 6703 for catering purposes it would be appreciated. NB: There is limited parking inside the Village so it’s best to look for a parking spot outside.
I look forward to seeing you on the day for a coffee and a chat!

Congratulations to all students who were selected to
compete in the Queensland School Sport Cross Country State Championships held at St. Paul’s School at Bald Hills last weekend.
Over 1500 children from primary and secondary schools
across Queensland, including from as far north as the
Torres Strait, were present at this blue ribbon meet.
An event like this is not possible without the hard work of
dedicated staff and supporters. I know the students very much appreciated their efforts in bring together such a successful carnival. |

It was marvellous to be able to catch up with friends and locals from Bald Hills at the Guide Dogs Queensland Open Day last weekend to celebrate 50 years of their operation.
As you’ll be aware, Guide Dogs Queensland have been operating from Bald Hills for many years and have a special place in the fabric of our community here in Brisbane’s north.
Congratulations to CEO Ms Chris Laine, President
Mr Richard Anderson, their dedicated staff and amazing team of
volunteers who provided a very well organised event. |
