Many residents will have noticed the construction of the new Carseldine Police Station located on the corner of Gympie Road and Denver Road Carseldine.  The building works are almost complete and I am advised that the station should be operational in the coming months.

Once the new facility is opened, the Aspley electorate will be serviced by both Carseldine and Albany Creek stations.

There were concerns that the Bald Hills Police Beat would be closed as a direct result of the new station opening.  In June I facilitated an information session at the Bald Hills Memorial Hall with local residents to discuss the issue. 

Senior Sergeant Dave French and Inspector Roger Whyte were available to respond to resident’s questions regarding the level

of police presence that could be offered from Carseldine if the

Police Beat was closed.

The final decision is with the Minister and at this time no recommendation has been presented to him.  I will advise local residents when a decision is made.
